These are my favorite books which are traditionally considered books for young readers. It is my feeling that a good book is a good book. I read Dickens and Asimov as a child, and I read Madeleine L'Engle as an adult.
| A Wrinkle In Time | Madeleine L'Engle | This was a wonderful tale of discovery for young Meg Murry. What is a Tesseract? Find out that and much more. |

| A Wind In The Door | Madeleine L'Engle | The wonderful sequel to A Wrinkle in Time. |
| A Swiftly Tilting Planet | Madeleine L'Engle | The third book about the Murry family. Charles Wallace has a world to save while his now grown up and married sister waits at home. |
| Many Waters | Madeleine L'Engle | The Murry twins missed much of the excitement the first three times around. Now it's their turn for adventure. |
| Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH | Robert C. O'Brien | The adventures of these brave rodents are compelling for young and old. This is not a 'look at the cute talking animals isn't that funny' book. The plot is compelling and the characterization is excellent. |
