We saw Bien Bien before he turned into a really nice turf performer. It was at Saratoga before the 1993 Travers where he worked 7 furlongs in 1:26.94 handily. He had blinkers on for that work which hid his beautifully marked face, so I did this painting from a later picture of one of his Hollywood Park turf wins. |
